On-chain analysis with Dexscreener and block explorers

Read pair pages, transaction tables, buyer and seller counts, liquidity changes and wallet histories to see what is happening before the chart shows it.

Anatomy of a pair page

A Dexscreener pair page shows price, liquidity, 24-hour volume, FDV, and β€” most usefully β€” buy and sell counts split by timeframe. The ratio of unique buyers to unique sellers over five minutes and one hour is the fastest read on whether momentum is real or manufactured.

Liquidity movement matters as much as price. Liquidity rising alongside price means new capital is committing; liquidity falling while price rises means someone is quietly pulling the floor away.

The transaction table

Scroll the live trades. Look for repeated identical amounts from rotating addresses, which suggests bots, and for a handful of large buys spaced out over an hour, which suggests accumulation. Click a maker address and open it in the explorer to see whether the wallet is a fresh burner or a long-lived trader with a track record.

Using explorers

Solscan for Solana, BscScan for BNB Chain, Etherscan and Basescan for their networks. Check the token's holder tab, the deployer's history β€” serial deployers who launched twenty tokens last month are a red flag β€” and whether the liquidity position is locked, burned or held in an ordinary wallet.

Turning data into a decision

Good setups usually combine three things: growing unique buyers, rising liquidity and a narrative catalyst. Missing any one of them, reduce your size. Missing two, stay out. On-chain data is not a crystal ball, but it removes most of the trades that were never going to work.

FAQ

Can I trust the holder count shown by aggregators?

Treat it as directional. Airdropped dust and sybil wallets inflate it; the trend over days is more informative than the absolute number.

What is a healthy buy-to-sell ratio?

Consistently more unique buyers than sellers across several timeframes is constructive. A single five-minute spike proves nothing.
